PHASE 1: Clarify your long term and short term goals.
It is highly ineffective to provide a plan without a clear goal in mind. Great achievements are the result of great vision and commitment. However, not all goals are destinations, some are merely a direction. Some of the best goals to strive towards will never be achieved, but the progress will be more than worth it.
PHASE 2: Identify the obstacles and challenges you will face.
Some obstacles you will know well, because they have limited you in the past. Others may be invisible to you, but obvious to an outsider. If you know what difficulties you will face, then you can design your plan to account for them.
PHASE 3: Take the next step.
The most important step in any plan is the one you are on. All plans fail that are never begun.
PHASE 4: Evaluate your progress.
Having a defined goal makes evaluation possible. Measuring your progress each minute makes it difficult to focus on the task at hand. Not measuring at all makes it difficult to tell which steps are working and which need to change. The key is finding a balance which allows you to measure progress without impeding it.
Sound simple? In a way, it is. Especially when you view these four phases as a constant cycle, rather than a beginning and ending. Progress for most things is a process of trial and error, until your trials lead you to success. What PHASE Fitness provides is the experience of many years of training with many different clients.
